Football Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Chaparral extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They were beaten by the Regis Jesuit Raiders 41-9. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Raiders are ranked 16th).

Drake Haworth threw for 109 yards on only ten passes. Brody Osterberg was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Regis Jesuit, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average over those games.

Luke Rubley went supernova, throwing for 167 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 32 yards. His passing game has become a key predictor of Regis Jesuit's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise. Another big playmaker for the Raiders was Logan Singer, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 50-7 loss against Legend on the 10th. As for Regis Jesuit, they have also already played their next contest, a 24-17 defeat against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 9th.
