New Bern had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pamlico County Hurricanes 75-28. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-21.

Terry Riggins was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 80% from the field en route to 26 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (three). Shelby Cherry was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Pamlico County is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

New Bern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-47 win against Topsail on the 21st. Hopefully Pamlico County paid attention to the Bears' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
