Softball Recap: Eureka Loggers vs. Hoopa Valley Warriors

Eureka won the last time they faced Hoopa Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Loggers had just enough and edged out the Warriors 6-4.

Mackenze Wolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Megan Secor was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Violla Kingsang was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Eureka's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Hoopa Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 17-8 record.

Looking ahead, Eureka will take on McKinleyville in a tournament on Thursday. Hoopa Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
