League recap: Blackduck winning streak up to four games

Blackduck (18-7, 18-5) has won four games in a row, Northland's longest active win streak. In the past week, the Drakes won another two games, including a 10-9 victory over Cass Lake-Bena and a 10-9 win over Cass Lake-Bena.

Blackduck went from 11121 to 10616 in the national rankings since last week after going 2-0 in the past seven days. The Drakes are currently sitting at No. 258 in the state of Minnesota, thanks to an overall record of 18-7.

Nevis's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing nine hits and six walks to lead the league in both categories. The Tigers have given up a mere 142 hits on the year, while striking out 131 opposing hitters. Austin Becker is the leader in that category with 73 Ks on the season.
