Softball Recap: Bethel Bison vs. Curtis Vikings        
        
		
            
 Bethel had to endure  a  five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Curtis Vikings 14-4. Bethel's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
  Madisyn Needham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. Needham was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base.
 In other batting news, Bethel let  Laiah Tapia-toczek and  Savannah McGee loose on the outfield. Tapia-toczek  went 4-for-4 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and a  double, while  McGee  went 3-for-4 with four  runs, a  triple,  and two  RBI.  Madeline Repp was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 On Curtis' side,  Hope Winer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Bethel  made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-4. As for Curtis, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with that  defeat, which was their ninth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Bethel will  square off against Graham-Kapowsin at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Bethel will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last. As for Curtis, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rogers at 4:00  p.m.  on April 9th.
