Softball Game Preview: Fenton Tigers vs. Mercy Marlins

The Fenton Tigers will face off against the Mercy Marlins at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fenton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Eaton Rapids on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Greyhounds 11-2. Fenton's victory was all the more impressive since the Greyhounds were averaging only 3.13 runs allowed on the season.

Mercy's win was their 27th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fenton, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5-1 record this season.
