Softball Recap: Bay City Finds Home Field Redemption Against Wharton

There's no place like home for Bay City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wharton Tigers a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Blackcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Bay City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexiana Dickerson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Ameris Huerta also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Bay City's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Wharton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Bay City will host Needville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bluejays will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Blackcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wharton, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brazosport at 5:00 p.m. on the 15th.
