Baseball Recap: East Hartford Comes Up Short

East Hartford had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-10 to make it six. They fell 6-2 to the Tolland Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

As for Tolland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Tolland's part, Chase Anderson tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Christian Steiner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, East Hartford will face off against E.O. Smith/Tolland at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tolland, they will take on Enfield at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
