Basketball Recap: First Baptist School Hurricanes vs. Pinewood Prep Panthers
First Baptist School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 69-43 to the Pinewood Prep Panthers. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Pinewood Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tre Green, who went 9 for 16 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds. Green is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Alexander, who went 8 of 19 on his way to 22 points.
First Baptist School's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Pinewood Prep, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
First Baptist School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-51 victory against Northwood Academy on the 17th. Pinewood Prep has also already played their next contest, a 66-62 defeat against Porter-Gaud on the 17th.
