The Bothell Cougars will face off against the Juanita Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bothell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Bothell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Issaquah, who was ranked fourth at the time (Bothell was ranked 14th). The Cougars fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.
Addison Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.
At the plate, Bothell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johna Bellecourt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Juanita beat Mount Si 10-7 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ravens.
Elliott Parker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Erah Berg, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwyn Reynolds, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Juanita was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Juanita's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Bothell, they moved to 14-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bothell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Juanita struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bothell came up short against Juanita when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 12-9. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
