Jonah Garcia Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Pflugerville Connally was led to victory by Jonah Garcia, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Garcia rushed for 279 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (119.7). He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.

Pflugerville Connally's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. Garcia and Pflugerville Connally will face off against Navarro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Dylan Owens Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Elgin got the W thanks in part to Dylan Owens playing the best football he has all season. Owens rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Elgin is 2-1 when Owens posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

Elgin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Owens and Elgin will head out on the road to challenge Bastrop at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Kyle May and Co. Win Sixth in a Row

Liberty Hill picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kyle May. May did his part (and then some), rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry for the 'W'.

For the year, May has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 127.4 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.

Bryce Muchaw Goes Supernova in Liberty Hill Victory

Liberty Hill picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Bryce Muchaw. Muchaw was dynamite, rushing for 157 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 81 yards.

This year, Muchaw has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 126.6 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 2.86 rushing yards per game.

Big Game from Taylor As Pflugerville Fell 35-28

Rounding off our Top Five is Cole Taylor of Pflugerville. Taylor threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns. His passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 302 passing yards.

Pflugerville's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers challenges Crockett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
