Basketball Recap: Oakland-Craig Skates Past Madison with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Oakland-Craig's strategy against Madison on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Oakland-Craig Knights blew the Madison Dragons out of the water with a 62-23 final score. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakland-Craig to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bailey Pelan, who posted ten points and four steals. Pelan is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Briar Ray, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Oakland-Craig was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lexi Jackson, who had seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sahori Saguilan Villasana, who posted five points.

Oakland-Craig's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Madison, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Oakland-Craig wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-63 victory against Northwest on the 27th. As for Madison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-26 win against Riverside on the 27th.
