Soccer Game Preview: Ponderosa vs. Cheyenne Mountain

The Ponderosa Mustangs will square off against the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ponderosa will be strutting in after a win while Cheyenne Mountain will be coming in after a loss.

Cheyenne Mountain will be up against a hot Ponderosa team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Ponderosa's way against George Washington on Tuesday as Ponderosa made off with a 5-1 victory. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

They hit George Washington with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lila Twork (2), Lydia Andrzejuk (2), and Julia Gapuzan.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain fell victim to Pine Creek and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Red-Tailed Hawks haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Cheyenne Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ponderosa, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
