The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars will take on the West Wendover Wolverines in a tournament on Saturday. Pinecrest Academy Cadence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against The Meadows School, falling 19-7.

Ava Englestead was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2. Ariana Horneck also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Pinecrest Academy Cadence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, West Wendover came up short against Indian Springs on Friday and fell 15-10. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alexa Aranda made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Makenzie Gonzalez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's record is now 1-4. As for West Wendover, their record is now 2-2.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence was able to grind out a solid win over West Wendover when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 6-1. Will Pinecrest Academy Cadence repeat their success, or does West Wendover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
