Volleyball Recap: Cowan Puts Losing Streak Behind Them + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wapahani, Cowan was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Blue River Valley Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Blackhawks: when they faced off against the Vikings two weeks ago, they had to take a 2-0 loss.

Cowan walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23.

Taylor Young was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.

Young wasn't the only good servers: Cowan was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

With the win, Cowan broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-15. As for Blue River Valley, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 12-14.

Looking ahead, Cowan will face off against Northfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue River Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
