Football Recap: Narbonne Starts off Right with Win over Legacy

Narbonne gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Legacy Tigers 47-6. The win was familiar territory for the Gauchos, who have now won nine games in a row dating back to last season.

Narbonne's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shayla Rivera, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, and also threw for 38 yards and two touchdowns. Faith Ugoje helped out on the ground, rushing for 99 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Narbonne was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 205 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Narbonne's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Sadiya Sandu.

Looking ahead, Narbonne will challenge Panorama at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Legacy, they will face off against Lincoln at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
