Baseball Recap: Hammondsport Comes Up Short

If Hammondsport was riding high fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Mount Morris on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakers came up short against the Arkport Central Bluejays on Monday, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lakers of the 19-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Hammondsport's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Arkport Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hammondsport will take on rival Jasper-Troupsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Arkport Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Avoca Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
