Baseball Game Preview: Juarez Eagles vs. UIC College Prep Firecats

The Juarez Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the UIC College Prep Firecats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Juarez has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Juarez managed to slip by King the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 14-4 to the Jaguars on Thursday.

Meanwhile, UIC College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 10-5 to Muchin College Prep.

Wyatt Jones put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Khalil Taylor and Sebastian Camarillo did some serious damage despite the final result: Taylor went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Camarillo went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Anthony Ayala also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

UIC College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Juarez, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Juarez suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to UIC College Prep in their previous meeting back in May of 2017. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
