Baseball Recap: Fairbury Jeffs vs. York Dukes
Fairbury had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it six. They came up short against the York Dukes, falling 18-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jeffs of the 14-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Jamison Runge made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.
As for York, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 15.5 runs.
On York's side, Haydin Coffin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Coffin has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
