The Woodland Beavers will venture away from home to face off against the R.A. Long Lumberjacks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Woodland is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Rochester just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2.

Woodland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Walker, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Ainsleigh Utter also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask R.A. Long). They blew past Washougal 16-5 on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lumberjacks' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for R.A. Long, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6-1.

Everything went Woodland's way against R.A. Long in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Woodland made off with a 15-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
