Baseball Recap: Gig Harbor Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Gig Harbor and Silas have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Tides' pitchers stepped up to hand the Rams a 3-0 shutout. The Tides haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Quentin Bockhorn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Gig Harbor saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayce Corley, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Cole Krilich also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Gig Harbor pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Silas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Gig Harbor will face off against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tides are facing the Abes at the right time seeing as the Abes are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Silas, they will square off against Central Kitsap at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
