Softball Recap: San Ramon Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hillsdale last Tuesday, San Ramon Valley came back down to earth. The San Ramon Valley Wolves fell 3-0 to the Carondelet Cougars on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.

Lila McLeod spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, San Ramon Valley fell to 4-1-1. As for Carondelet, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, San Ramon Valley will challenge Dougherty Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dougherty Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14 runs per game this season. As for Carondelet, they will square off against Alameda at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carondelet also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7 runs per game.
