Softball Game Preview: Hardin Valley Academy Hawks vs. Grace Christian Academy Rams

The Hardin Valley Academy Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Grace Christian Academy Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Hardin Valley Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against West on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost three in a row.

Hardin Valley Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Kate Schneider, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Grace Christian Academy got themselves on the board against King's Academy on Tuesday, but King's Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Lions. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.

Grace Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Izzie Tapp-Milligan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Tapp-Milligan has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Hill, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Grace Christian Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Grace Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Hardin Valley Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-17.

Hardin Valley Academy suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Grace Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
