Baseball Game Preview: Perris Panthers vs. Hillcrest Trojans

For the second straight game, Perris will face off against Hillcrest. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Perris has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Perris came up short against Hillcrest on Tuesday, falling 13-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Hillcrest's part, the team relied heavily on James Henson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Henson has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Broesel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Henson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perris only managed one hit.

The victory was the third in a row for Hillcrest, bringing their record up to 8-4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Perris, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
