Evansville Memorial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Kelley led the charge by scoring 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Sophie Johnson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Evansville Memorial's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.72 points. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Evansville Memorial will head out on the road to take on Evansville North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will be playing at home against Forest Park at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
