After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Strongsville, SPIRE Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 78-69 win over the Linsly Cadets. The victory was all the more spectacular given the SPIRE's disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 316th in Ohio, while the Cadets are ranked 26th in West Virginia).

SPIRE Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Linsly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. SPIRE Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Linsly on February 21st. As for Linsly, they will square off against Westerville North at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Linsly knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Westerville North likes a good challenge.
