Softball Recap: Girls Prep Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Lipscomb Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Girls Prep proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Bruisers: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Wednesday, they had to take a 6-5 loss.

Sky Marshall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Calieah Reyes, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Girls Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lipscomb Academy, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.

Girls Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
