Southern Lee lost to Jordan-Matthews back in November of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Cavaliers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Jets 55-8. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cavaliers had established a 39-point advantage.

Zamaria Mellette had a dynamite game, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Hall, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 11 points and four steals.

Southern Lee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Jordan-Matthews lost, don't look at Yamilet Lozano. Despite the final result, she posted three points and three steals.

Southern Lee now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jordan-Matthews, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Southern Lee will be playing in front of their home fans against Ascend Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on the 4th. The Aviators have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will head out on the road to square off against Central Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
