Central Christian dropped down to 19-7 on Thursday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Open Door Christian Patriots by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on October 4th.

Sommer Shue paced Central Christian's offense, picking up 16 kills. Shue got some help from Maclaren Fry and her 33 assists. Shue also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Saralyn Stjernholm, each putting up two.

As for Open Door Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since October 10, 2024.

Sammy Comer had an outrageously good game as she had 36 digs and three assists. Those 36 digs gave her a new career-high. Briella Bendik also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Central Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Open Door Christian, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Monroeville on the 1st.
