Softball Recap: Logan Drops Season-High Score on Weber

Logan made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Weber, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Logan blew past Weber 15-5 on Monday. The Grizzlies' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Miley Allen was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Logan got a massive performance out of Cambree Cooper, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kiki Laing, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Logan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weber only posted an OBP of .435.

The victory made it two in a row for Logan and bumps their season record up to 5-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Weber, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan will challenge West Field at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Logan's pitchers better be ready for this one: West Field has averaged an impressive 13.2 runs per game this season. As for Weber, they will take on Roy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
