Baseball Game Preview: New Brockton Gamecocks vs. Geneva Panthers

New Brockton and Geneva are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. The New Brockton Gamecocks will host the Geneva Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Brockton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

New Brockton lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Geneva, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. New Brockton's pitchers stepped up to hand Geneva a 6-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Gamecocks have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was James Downing, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

New Brockton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Geneva, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
