Soccer Game Preview: Memorial vs. Wylie

The Memorial Mavericks will face off against the Wylie Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Friday, Memorial came up short against Legacy and fell 4-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mavericks came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Leopards are ranked 220th).

Meanwhile, Wylie entered their game against Abilene on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Wylie took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Abilene. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Memorial's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matches. As for Wylie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
