Basketball Recap: Lafayette Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Lafayette had won two straight home games and Kordell London did his part to make it three on Friday. The Lafayette Rams snuck past the Jamestown Eagles with a 55-50 victory thanks in part to London, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Another player making a difference was Shamar Welsh, who posted nine points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Lafayette's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Jamestown, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will take on New Kent at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in New Kent's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Jamestown has already played their next match (against Warhill), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
