Argonaut extends home losing streak to four

Recap: Argonaut Mustangs vs. Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Wolves

After flying high against the Golden Sierra Grizzlies on Wednesday, the Argonaut Mustangs came back down to earth. Argonaut took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on Friday. It was the first time this season that Argonaut let down their fans at home.

Despite the loss, Argonaut had strong showings from Ryan Duran, who scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists, and Mitchell Mcmahan, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Mcmahan scored a full 31.9% of Argonaut's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Argonaut's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Argonaut will be playing in front of their home fans against Leroy Greene Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Leroy Greene Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1138th, while Argonaut is ranked 507th). Western Sierra Collegiate Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Colfax at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. Colfax is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
