Thursday just wasn't the day for Frederick's offense. They fell just short of the Francis Scott Key Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Cadets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Frederick has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Francis Scott Key, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
