Softball Recap: Dudley Gets the Win

Dudley's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 25-10 margin over the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted against the Golden Eagles since March 14, 2023.

Dudley got a massive performance out of Josalyn Williamson-Price, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Egypt Cheek, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs.

Dudley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.

Dudley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Ben L. Smith, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dudley will head out to take on Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Comets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ben L. Smith, they will venture away from home to challenge Southern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
