Basketball Recap: Wortham Takes a Loss

Wortham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Brook Hill Guard and fell 69-8. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1429th, while the Guard are ranked 159th).

Leading Brook Hill to victory were Indeya Williams and Zuzanna Majchrzak. Williams went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Majchrzak went 6 of 7 en route to 12 points and five assists. That's the most assists Williams has posted since back in November. The team also got some help courtesy of Remy Tonroy, who posted nine points and four steals.

Wortham's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Brook Hill, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.

Wortham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 78-20 loss against Fannindel on the 14th. As for Brook Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-15 win against Milford on the 14th.
