Volleyball Recap: Cedar Grove-Belgium Comes Up Short

If Cedar Grove-Belgium was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Random Lake last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Howards Grove Tigers on Tuesday. While the Rockets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 25-15 in the first set.

Cedar Grove-Belgium started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-22, 25-8, 25-20.

Ava Peterson paced Cedar Grove-Belgium's offense, picking up nine kills. Peterson got some help from Jolie Bialzik and her 14 assists. Bialzik also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with London Rulli, each putting up four.

Howards Grove was led to victory by Brianne Vandoske and Sydney Borgen. Vandoske had five digs and five aces, while Borgen had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Vandoske has posted since back in August.
