Preview: Avon Orioles vs. Upper Arlington Golden Bears
The Avon Orioles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Upper Arlington Golden Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Avon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
Last Friday, Avon came up short against Franklin Central and fell 57-47.
Avon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aniah Smith, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Makaylee Butts who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Wren, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Upper Arlington entered their tilt with Butler with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Upper Arlington took down Butler 46-32 on Sunday.
Avon now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Upper Arlington, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
