Softball Recap: Plymouth Whitemarsh Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Plymouth Whitemarsh won the last time they faced Abington and things went their way on Thursday too. The Colonials blew past the Galloping Ghosts 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Colonials, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Madison Moran made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Moran wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kalina Childers, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Another was Gia Bono, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Plymouth Whitemarsh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abington only managed five hits.

Plymouth Whitemarsh has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Abington, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-13.

Coming up, Plymouth Whitemarsh will head out to take on Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Abington, they will welcome Harry S. Truman at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
