Softball Preview: East Dubuque Warriors vs. West Carroll Thunder

The East Dubuque Warriors will be playing at home against the West Carroll Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in East Dubuque's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while West Carroll has been banged up by 18 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

East Dubuque is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Thursday, just like they did against River Ridge/Scales Mound (and have done all season long). East Dubuque was the clear victor by a 13-6 margin over River Ridge/Scales Mound on Wednesday.

Curin Oberman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Oberman was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, East Dubuque got a massive performance out of Erika Dolan, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Isabel Stewart, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base.

Meanwhile, West Carroll fell victim to a tough 11-1 loss at the hands of Pearl City on Saturday.

East Dubuque's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for West Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
