Weston came out on top against Wauzeka-Steuben on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Silver Eagles took their game against the Hornets 5-2. The Silver Eagles haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Trevor Westphal made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Westphal was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Gavin Kast was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Isaac Jennings also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Weston picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Wauzeka-Steuben, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
