Baseball Recap: Proctor Takes a Loss

Proctor extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-6 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Twin Valley Wildcats. Phantoms fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wildcats since on Monday.

Chase Razanouski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Isaiah Fernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Twin Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3. The game was the first time they have beaten Proctor on their field since May 8, 2017.

On Twin Valley's side, Colton Corey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Seth Wrathall, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Gage Ryan also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Coming up, Proctor will head out to face off against Green Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Twin Valley, they will host Poultney at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
