Softball Recap: Morgan Falls Short of Emery in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Morgan can now relate to. They fell just short of the Emery Spartans by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Trojans have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Lexi Hardman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 13 times she's played.

Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Emery, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-12 record this season.

Morgan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Emery, they will challenge Grantsville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
