Baseball Recap: Millsap Has No Trouble Against Early

Millsap won the last time they faced Early and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Longhorns 16-3. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Crouch made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Millsap's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Brandon Savage was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Miles Griffin, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Millsap always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Early only posted an OBP of .444.

Millsap is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Early, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-15.
