Softball Recap: Turlock Wins Going Away Against Modesto

Turlock got themselves on the board against Modesto on Thursday, but Modesto never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over the Panthers. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Cadee Campbell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Abby Maxwell was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Karley Wool was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Turlock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Modesto only posted an OBP of .273.

Turlock's victory bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Modesto, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Turlock will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pitman at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Modesto, they will challenge Johansen at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.07 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
