Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elkhart). They blew past the Kemp Yellowjackets 22-0 on Friday. With that win, the Elks brought their scoring average up to 8.3 runs per game.

Rylee Lohmeyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Lively, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Marisa Denny was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Elkhart hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive games.

The victory got Elkhart back to even at 3-3. As for Kemp, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Elkhart will be taking part in a tournament against Wortham on Friday. As for Kemp, they will challenge Wills Point at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
