Basketball Recap: Clarke Prep Comes Up Short

Clarke Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Snook Christian Academy Eagles an easy 49-28 win. Having soared to a lofty 59 points in the game before, the Gators couldn't push the score so high this time.

Snook Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Micah Brunson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. That's the most points Brunson has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Josh Gabel, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Clarke Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Snook Christian Academy, their record now sits at 4-5.

Clarke Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southern Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Snook Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-25 victory against Monroe Academy on the 21st.
