Basketball Game Preview: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. Faith Christian Knights

Holly Hill Academy and Faith Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Holly Hill Academy Raiders just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Faith Christian Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Holly Hill Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.

On Wednesday, Holly Hill Academy lost to Calhoun Academy on the road by a 67-48 margin. The Raiders have struggled against the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Holly Hill Academy might have lost, but man, Jody Gillam was a machine: he went 9 for 18 en route to 20 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Gillam has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Connor, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian came up short against St. John's Christian Academy on Tuesday and fell 64-55. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Faith Christian's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-8. As for Holly Hill Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Holly Hill Academy came up short against Faith Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 74-70. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Faith Christian's Elijah Brown, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Now that Holly Hill Academy knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
