Basketball Recap: Grosse Ile Comes Up Short

Grosse Ile lost to Airport back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Devils had to suffer through a 77-32 loss at the hands of the Jets. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Jets are ranked 72nd).

Grosse Ile dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Airport, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Grosse Ile is set to square off against their familiar foe Milan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Airport will take on rival Huron at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
